The Joys of Motherhood

One of the more pleasant aspects of motherhood is the opportunity to see your children develop and watch their personalities blossom. It is always interesting to watch the kids and see how they all respond to the same situations in different ways.  Then as they get older and seek out their own interests it is fun to see glimpses of them from when they were young and how much stays the same and yet how they grow into themselves more.  Perhaps this doesn't make much sense to anyone else.
Maddy was in a play (her first one) and I recorded some of it. Unfortunately, our camera doesn't record video well. You can't see a lot of what she is doing. She played the part of a jester, which I have to say, was a perfect fit. Truth be told, I am not sure why Maddy hasn't done more with drama before because I have always seen within her a flair for theatrics.  She also is quite a ham, so I thoroughly enjoyed watching her perform. The play was titled "Hamlet and Ted's Woe".  I am really proud of her for branching out and trying new things. She learned a lot about working with others in a different way than she does with sports.

All Things Bright and Beautiful

There are so many people who touch our lives in ways they may not notice, but to us become an integral part of who we are. Thank you to all the women in my life who have given me pieces of themselves so I can be a better mother, wife, friend. Happy Mother's Day to you all.
Daniel's birthday was yesterday and we had a busy day. It started at 4:30 am to bake cinnamon rolls for the YW bake sale and Daniel's birthday cake (he wanted cheesecake with a motorcycle guy on it).  I knew I should have done it Friday night but honestly, I am a bit of a procrastinator (ask any of my friends who saw me writing my English papers the day they were due, during our break). Maddy and I went up to the bake sale for a bit, then came home in time to give Daniel and his friend sundaes. Adam and I made dinner and had Lilly up to celebrate with us. Funny thing happened. Took the cake out of the fridge and wouldn't you know it, half the cake fell because I took the foil off the cutting board without realizing it. Thankfully the well decorated side stayed in my hand and the cheesecake fell straight down, so preserving the look of his cake anyway, so he could blow out the candles. We had a fun day though. Daniel, you are such a fun and joyful and loyal person. I am amazed you are already 6. I love you!
The boys did a show at school that was loads of fun to watch. They did such a good job I had to include some pictures.

Easter morning

Adam and I just had our 8 year anniversary. He is a bright and beautiful part of my life and I am immensely honored to share our joys and frustrations of life with one another. I couldn't ask for a more giving and compassionate person to be the father of my children and the holder of my heart. I love you HDD.
